The United Kingdom is ready to advance with employing the full worth of frozen Russian assets to aid the Ukrainian defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They added that the move would be implemented in tight collaboration with the US.

British sanctions have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russian funds since Russia began its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, previously, resources sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had only been drawn from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their aim to push forward toward utilizing the complete amount of the frozen Russian sovereign assets to end the war.

He added that additional restrictions over the next period would heighten the tension on Russia.

This statement comes after European leaders convened in the Danish capital recently to discuss utilizing frozen Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to seize or utilize immobilized Russia's assets, as reported by media sources.

The value of seized Russia's assets in the European Union is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

President Zelensky calls on UK's Sir Keir Starmer to take part in the PURL program

The Russian government carried out extensive aerial attacks across the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing power cuts in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and eight other regions.
